You Are My Wish Come True
It was an absolute must that I write you to tell you how much You are my Wish come True touched me and how I can not wait for my unborn child and I to sit and read it together. I purchased it just today for my baby due on December 19, 2009. My mother and I were crying even before I opened the book because the title alone captures just how I feel about my child. After reading a few lines, tears were running down our faces at Babies R Us. When I got home and read it in its entirety, I was sobbing (happy, joyful tears of course). I want to sincerely thank you for writing such a beautiful, heartfelt, and touching book. This book will be proudly displayed for all to see in my sweet angel's nursery. I am truly thankful to have found you and your beautiful words. ~Danielle
I Wished for You, an adoption story
As an adoptive parent, I live in frightful anticipation of a question that's far more daunting than "Where do babies come from?" Some day my son is going to ask, "Why didn't my birth parents keep me?" But after reading Marianne Richmond's "I Wished for You: An Adoption Story," that question doesn't seem so scary. The author answers this (and more) in an eloquently simple fashion. Her heartwarming tale celebrates many wonderful aspects of adoption, but Richmond focuses her story on the love between mother and child. You needn't be a member of the adoption community to appreciate and enjoy Richmond's story, but adoptive families especially will cherish this beautifully written and illustrated book. I, for one, look forward to reading "I Wished for You" to my son, and I'm certain that it's a story he'll ask to hear again and again. ~Sanford
I ordered this book after adopting our son, Jack. When the book arrived, I cried warm, wet tears as the book mirrored my journey to finding my child perfectly! I cannot wait until he is old enough to understand the words as I share it with him. Anyone who plans to be open with their child about the adoption process should buy this book. A fine investment and treasure for our collection! It also was a neat way to explain what we had been through and anticipated to family and friends. ~W. Jones
I Love You So...
I am a single mom with four children, ages 2 1/2 to 14. I have a full time and a part time job just to make ends meet. I spotted "I Love You So..." on a shelf. Needless to say my eyes teared up when I read it. The words inside reminded me of the Jamie Lee Curtis books I have. It also made me think about how good of a job I am doing with my children. I don't buy materialistic things or the latest fads for my children but they definitely know how much I love them. We have two rituals at night we say to each other to show how much they are loved and when they say it back to me, I know they know they are loved. Martin Luther King once said "Children need your prescence more than your presents". Thank you Ms. Richmond. ~Susan
WOW!!!!! What a wonderful book. It took me sometime to get thru it when I was reading it to my son Grant. The tears were rolling down my face as my voice was choking up. There were moments of silence. It has to be one of the best so far. A home run! ~Karen
I Love You So Much...
My Red Hat chapter is going to do an "Easter Tea" for a 3rd grade art class at an inner-city school that is 99% African -American. I went looking for an ethnic-flavored book as the last time we were there they so enjoyed being read to. I went to local bookstore and they assured me that there were no ethnic distinctions. I found I Love You so Much and I am grateful for it. These kids need to hear about love. ~Judith
I just wanted to thank you for your book, "I Love You So Much". I stumbled upon it when I was pregnant with my twins - it was just so lovely and really hit home for me... I had just about given up hope I would ever be a mother! Then, my boys arrived 3 months early, and I read your book to them in the NICU too many times to count - "I love you sick or able" always touched a nerve. Anyway, they are home now and doing well, and I will continue to read it to them for many years! THANK YOU. ~Erin
Hooray for You!
A friend gave me your book Hooray for You! - simply charming book. My son adored it especially the illustrations... he is severly handicapped and has never talked. Although he is 12 he functions like a 2 years old. so i will ask family to give him more of your books as gifts. ~Cay
I love your books, so after reading them myself and to my own daughters, I also read them to my high school students. (We use them to discuss theme, parts of speech, and writing conventions.) I also frequently buy Hooray for You as a graduation gift. Thank you for your creativity! ~Lynette
The Gift of an Angel
I wanted to let you know that your book "The Gift of an Angel" made a great gift/devotional reading for our church's baby shower for some of our pregnant moms. I read the book out loud as the devotional part of the shower. I had told the moms-to-be that they would be reading lots of stories to their babies in the years to come, and that this story was going to be read to them! It was fun to read adults a story book with such a special message. I also gave them each a copy of your book. ~Rose
The Gift of a Memory
Hello. My daughter Emma passed away 3 1/2 years ago at the age of 9 months from a brain tumor. I received approximately 10-15 various books from friends and family, however, The Gift of a Memory is the only book I read. It is a very beautiful book and I think I will read it again before I go to bed. I wish Marianne and her husband the best of luck in their business! ~Megan
I want to thank you for your wonderful book. I received it on the very day my husband passed away, and I have cherished it and actually displayed if ever since. Thank you for helping me through such a rough time in my life. ~Kenda
Dear Daughter, a message of love
I am getting ready to deliver my only child, my precious little girl, to college on Sunday. I was looking for something special to give her. During my lunch hour I stopped at a local gift shop and found "Dear Daughter, A Message of Love." PERFECT!!! I can't tell you how much finding this book means to me.... I just know it will also mean the world to her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ~Tammy
I bought Dear Daughter at Hearts Delight in Houston, Texas.
Love it! I am not a "crafty" person; what I love about your book(s) is/are you can add as little or as much as you want. I loved working on this project! I made Dear Daughter for my daughter's 25th Valentine's Day this year! Can't wait to give it to her!
I am SO proud of the time that I have spent to personalize it. (Loved page where you made suggestions and listed items needed--since I'm not a scrapbooker--that was a huge help!) Thanks...I will be doing some more, I'll assure you! ~Mary
